Ongoing Managed Services
Expert management of your dedicated infrastructure. Every engagement is tailored to what you actually need.
No Two Infrastructures Are the Same
We don't believe in one-size-fits-all support packages. Some clients need 24/7 coverage for mission-critical systems. Others just need someone to handle security patches and be available when things break. We figure out what makes sense for your situation.
"We'll discuss your infrastructure, your team's capabilities, your uptime requirements, and your budget - then propose an engagement that actually fits."
What We Can Manage
Pick and choose what you need help with. Most clients don't need everything - we'll help you figure out where our involvement adds the most value.
Bare Metal Servers
OS management, hardware monitoring, firmware updates, RAID management, performance tuning.
Databases
PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis - backups, replication, performance tuning, failover testing.
Kubernetes
Cluster management, upgrades, node management, monitoring, troubleshooting deployments.
Networking
Load balancers, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, CDN configuration, hybrid cloud connectivity.
Security
Patch management, vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection, certificate management, access control.
Monitoring & Observability
Prometheus, Grafana, alerting, log aggregation, uptime monitoring, on-call response.
How We Engage
Different situations call for different levels of involvement. Here's the spectrum of how we typically work with clients:
Monitoring & Escalation
We watch your infrastructure 24/7 and alert you (or your team) when something needs attention. We're the eyes, you're the hands.
Good for: Teams that want to handle their own operations but need reliable monitoring and a safety net.
Shared Operations
We handle routine maintenance, security updates, and respond to common issues. Your team handles application-level changes and escalations.
Good for: Teams with some ops capacity that want to offload the repetitive work and have expert backup.
Full Operations
We manage your infrastructure like it's our own. You focus entirely on your application and business - we handle everything underneath.
Good for: Teams without dedicated ops/SRE capacity, or those who'd rather invest engineering time elsewhere.
Most clients end up somewhere in between, and it often varies by system. You might want full operations for your databases but just monitoring for your Kubernetes clusters. We'll figure it out together.
What We Discuss
When we scope a managed services engagement, here's what we figure out together:
Coverage Hours
Do you need 24/7 response, or is business hours sufficient? What about weekends? We'll match coverage to your actual requirements.
Response Expectations
What's critical vs. what can wait? We'll define reasonable response times based on impact, not arbitrary tiers.
Scope Boundaries
What's in scope, what's handled by your team, what needs approval before we act? Clear boundaries prevent confusion.
Communication
Slack channel? Email? Regular syncs? We'll set up communication that works for how your team operates.
Maintenance Windows
When can we do updates? What requires advance notice? We'll work around your business needs.
Reporting
Weekly updates? Monthly reviews? Just alert us when something's wrong? We'll match your preferences.
What's Always Included
Regardless of how we structure the engagement, you get:
Documentation
We document what we do and keep runbooks updated
Security Updates
We keep your systems patched and secure
Regular Reviews
Periodic check-ins to make sure things are working
Direct Access
You talk to engineers, not support tiers
How Pricing Works
We don't publish fixed prices because the scope varies significantly between clients. A 5-server setup with standard monitoring is very different from a 50-node Kubernetes cluster with 24/7 coverage requirements.
After we understand your infrastructure and requirements, we'll propose a monthly retainer that covers the agreed scope. It's predictable for you and fair for both sides.
What affects pricing:
- • Number and complexity of systems we manage
- • Coverage hours (business hours vs. 24/7)
- • Response time requirements
- • Level of involvement (monitoring only vs. full operations)
- • Compliance requirements (if applicable)
Common Questions
Do I need to migrate with you to use managed services?
No. We can manage infrastructure you've set up yourself or migrated with another provider. We just need to understand how it's configured.
What if our needs change?
We adjust. If you hire an ops team and need less help, we scale back. If you're growing and need more coverage, we expand. We review scope periodically to make sure it still makes sense.
How do you handle emergencies?
We agree on escalation procedures upfront. For critical issues, we act first and communicate immediately. For less urgent matters, we follow the process we've agreed on.
Can you manage hybrid environments?
Yes. If you have workloads split between bare metal and cloud, we can manage across both. The scope just needs to be clear on what's included.
What about compliance (SOC2, HIPAA, etc.)?
We can help maintain compliance posture as part of operations. This affects scope and pricing since it involves additional documentation and controls.
How long is the commitment?
We typically work on month-to-month terms after an initial period. We're not trying to lock you in - if it's not working, you should be free to change.
